For example, if you buy a $500 item at 50% off on Groupon, they’ll collect the other half for themselves and give you only $250 worth of credit or cash back. That means that carpet cleaners can’t clean a carpet when the deal is low like $40 because they’re working on just giving you $20 towards your purchase in order to get their cut of the sale. It doesn’t make sense!

The main point of this blog post is that Groupon has been taking away from carpets cleaner businesses by only offering deals up to 50% off while still collecting money (50%) on each sale which does not make sense. It also points out that even though these offers are low in cost, there aren’t many clients looking for $40 dollar deals so most of them go unsold.
